Scoot expands payment choice for Australian customers with PayID via Azupay

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has launched PayID as a new payment option for Australian customers, partnering with real-time payments provider Azupay to support fast, secure account-to-account transactions at checkout using Azupay’s PayID-based experience.

The PayID option, delivered through Azupay’s PayID-based checkout experience, is now live across Scoot’s digital booking channels, including its website and mobile app, and is positioned as the leading payment choice at checkout alongside cards and digital wallets. By enabling bank-based payments, Scoot is expanding customer choice to meet growing customer expectations for easy and secure account-to-account payment in Australia.

“As Scoot continues to grow and expand our network, it is important that our digital and payment experiences also scale alongside the business,” said a Scoot spokesperson. “At Scoot, we constantly look for ways to improve our customer experience and introducing PayID provides our Australian customers an added option at checkout, enhancing convenience and seamless travel experiences. We will continue to innovate and grow our offerings to provide our customers with reliable and quality services, as well as customisable and differentiated products.

“Scoot has been deliberate about how it evolves the customer booking experience as its business grows,” said Trent Daniel, Chief Customer Officer at Azupay. “PayID gives Scoot a practical way to expand payment choice for Australian customers, with real-time confirmation at checkout and a simple experience for customers paying directly from their bank account.”

For airlines operating in high-volume environments, account-to-account payments add another secure and efficient way for customers to pay, complementing existing card and digital wallet options. PayID enables customers to complete payments in real time using their existing banking apps, delivering a smooth and familiar checkout experience.
